In my lifetime, many people have told me what I can or cannot do just because I don't have any legs. "You can't be successful", "You can't be a signwriter", "You can't climb Kilimanjaro", "You can't do that!!!".

But I went ahead and I accomplished all those things that people told me I couldn't and so much more. And for that, some people have called me arrogant... I suppose, arrogant for not listening to them because they think they know best.

I call it self-belief and determination.

How many times have you heard other people tell you that you can't do something? And how many times have you stopped yourself because you believed them?

Why? What makes them know you better than you?

I just wrote a new posting over the weekend and wasn't expecting to post another one so soon. But I heard a song today and I really want to share it with you. It's a fairly new release by Sara Bareilles called King of Anything.

This is interesting. It's a bit of a girly song but the words made me smile and just brings back so many memories.

Who cares if you disagree? You are not me...

I’m not the one who’s lost with no direction
But you’ll never see

All my life I’ve tried to make everybody happy
While I just hurt and hide
Waiting for someone to tell me it’s my turn to decide...

Don't wait for someone to tell you that it's your turn to decide because it's your life and the decision is only yours. To believe it when others tell you that you can't, is also your decision.

I say, how would you know you can't until you try? And how would THEY know you can't if you haven't tried...and perhaps neither have they? Think about it and remember it!

And when in doubt, just come back here, read this post again and write to me if you'd like to get some Tony's brand of motivation!

If you haven't already, I hope you get to hear this song over the airwaves soon...
